Knowledge Platform for Geoscientists

Built with a robust Java Spring Boot backend, a responsive React front end, and a scalable PostgreSQL database deployed on AWS Cloud, the platform delivered high performance and reliability for global users. A powerful map-centric interface enabled both spatial and text-based search, allowing users to explore geological data by region, basin, author, or topic. Hundreds of thousands of georeferenced maps from trusted academic and industry sources were available for download in GeoTIFF, shapefile, and other GIS-ready formats. Python-based custom data pipelines automated ingestion, georeferencing, and metadata enrichment, ensuring data accuracy and freshness. GFTS also integrated live news and infrastructure overlays through MapStand, keeping users informed on energy developments, exploration activity, and global trends.
